• MedLink Receives Prestigious Grant From Biden-Harris Administration

COLBERT, GA – MedLink Georgia is honored to announce that it has been awarded a prestigious grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to enhance healthcare access for individuals reentering their communities following incarceration. As one of only two facilities in Georgia selected for this highly competitive grant, MedLink is uniquely positioned to lead efforts in addressing the critical health needs of this population.

This funding is part of the White House’s Second Chance Initiative, a national effort aimed at breaking the cycle of recidivism by addressing barriers faced by individuals reentering society after incarceration. The HRSA grant will enable MedLink to deliver tailored healthcare services, including primary care, behavioral health support, substance use disorder treatment, and chronic disease management, while fostering overall wellness and stability.

"Receiving this grant is a testament to our dedication to fostering equitable healthcare access for everyone in our community," said Dave Ward, CEO of MedLink Georgia. "Transitioning back into society after incarceration is a pivotal time, and access to healthcare can make a significant difference in the success of this process. We are proud to be part of a program that helps individuals rebuild their lives with dignity and support."

MedLink Georgia will utilize this funding to implement specialized care plans, train staff on the complexities of reentry care, and collaborate with local agencies to ensure patients have access to social support services, such as housing assistance, employment resources, and legal aid. The goal is to address both immediate and long-term health concerns while reducing barriers to care.
