• Hart County Historical Society & Museum Begins Its 36th Year with Exciting Plans for 2025

The Hart County Historical Society & Museum, located in the historic Teasley-Holland House at 31 East Howell Street, is excited to announce the beginning of its 36th year of preserving and promoting the rich history of Hart County. As a cornerstone of the community, the Society remains committed to keeping the stories of Hart County alive through its museum and the dedicated involvement of its members.

The museum proudly houses an extensive collection of artifacts generously donated by individuals, families, and organizations. These items are carefully displayed in a secure and respected environment, showcasing the valuable history of Hart County. The museum is open to visitors every Friday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, as well as during city events and Saturday festivals, offering opportunities for residents and tourists alike to explore the area’s heritage.

    Reflecting on a Successful 2024
In 2024, the Historical Society achieved several milestones, including:

    • Enhanced Museum Grounds: Landscaping improvements and essential pipe repairs.
    • Membership Growth: Two successful membership meetings and drives, bolstered by valuable input from members on displays and initiatives.
    • Organizational Updates: Updated by-laws and filled board positions to strengthen leadership.
    • Community Collaboration: Partnered with the Archway Partnership to plan future improvements.
    • Educational Engagement: Increased involvement with local schools and preschools. Plans are underway to launch History Clubs at Hart County High School (HCHS) and Hart County Middle School (HCMS) in Fall 2025. HCHS students will also have the opportunity to assist with the museum’s website and social media design.

    Looking Ahead to 2025
