    The Northeast Georgia Council on Domestic Violence (NEGACDV) is seeking a dedicated Executive Director to lead our mission to end domestic violence and empower survivors through comprehensive services and community advocacy.     Our Mission is to support victims of Domestic Violence and their families through intervention, prevention and education.

    Our Work

    • Comprehensive Support Services: Operating a domestic violence shelter and outreach office while providing critical resources such as safety planning, case management, counseling/support group, legal assistance, housing support and more.
    • Community Engagement: Conducting public education programs, training sessions, and outreach initiatives to raise awareness and prevent domestic violence.
    • Collaborative Advocacy: Partnering with local, state, and national organizations to strengthen resources and policy frameworks that benefit survivors.

    Our Scope
    NEGACDV provides services in three counties (Hart, Franklin and Elbert), 22 full and part time positions and a budget of approximately 1.4 million with 75% coming from government contracts, 13% from thrift store revenue and 12% from individual giving and events.

    Key Responsibilities

    Leadership and Strategy

    • Develop and implement a strategic vision for the agency in collaboration with the Board of Directors.
    • Provide support and guidance to the Board of Directors to ensure effective governance.
    • Drive operational excellence and innovation across all programs, including the outreach office, domestic violence shelter, and South Forest Station store.

    Staff and Volunteer Management

    • Recruit, hire, and mentor staff and volunteers, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
    • Oversee staff development programs to ensure professional growth and excellence in service delivery.

    Fundraising and Grant Management

    • In collaboration with the Director of Development & Communication and the Director of Administration, develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy including grants, individual gifts and special events.
    • Identify, secure, and oversee government and foundation grants to support and expand agency operations.
    • Ensure compliance with grant requirements and complete timely reporting to funders.
    • Develop new funding opportunities aligned with the agency’s mission and vision.

    Program Management

    • Oversee the development and implementation of all programs and services.
    • Ensure the agency operates in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and best practices.

    Fiscal Oversight

    • Oversee and manage all financial operations, including budgeting, expenditures, and financial reporting.
    • Ensure fiscal responsibility and transparency to maintain and enhance donor and stakeholder confidence.

    Community Outreach

    • Serve as a liaison with community service agencies, the justice system, educational institutions, and local task forces.
    • Represent NEGACDV at public events, media engagements, and educational programs to enhance awareness and understanding of domestic violence.

    Advocacy and Representation

    • Represent NEGACDV at the state and national levels to advocate for funding, policy advancements, and program development.
    • Build relationships with government and nonprofit partners to amplify the agency’s impact.

    Key Attributes and Qualifications Sought in the Executive Director

    • Commitment to Mission: Passion for domestic violence prevention and survivor support, with a deep understanding of the challenges faced by underserved communities.
    • Leadership: Proven experience in organizational structure and leadership, with the ability to inspire and guide teams toward achieving strategic goals.
    • Fundraising Expertise: Demonstrated success in securing and managing grants, building a contributed revenue program and cultivating donor relationships.
    • Programmatic Expertise: Experience developing, implementing and evaluating programs.
    • Financial Acumen: Strong skills in budgeting, financial oversight, and ensuring fiscal responsibility.
    • Community Engagement: Exceptional interpersonal skills and a track record of building partnerships.
    • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication and relationship-building skills.
    • Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Social Work, is required, a Master’s degree is preferred. Equivalent managerial and social work experience may be considered.
    • Experience: Preferred five years of experience or more in nonprofit management, including supervisory roles, with experience in domestic violence or similar fields preferred.

    • Salary Range: $90K-$100K, commensurate with experience.
