Gift Certificates

This is "Shoping Local" at its best! If you are a retail, restaurant or service provider in Hart County, you should be accepting OUR TOWN Gift Certificates. They are exactly like a check. You accept them for the face value and deposit them just like you deposit a check. It cost you NOTHING to accept them and this keeps the money in Hart County. No % fee like a credit card, just deposit it.
By accepting these, you are helping keep people in Hart County employed and the money local. Anyone can buy a gift certificate for either $10 or $25 at the Chamber (with NO transaction fee attached) and they have up to one year to use it. So contact the Chamber to add your name to the list of accepting businesses. The holidays are coming up and you will want to take advantage of the SHOP LOCAL push.

June: McGee Heating and Air

McGee Heating and Air was chosen as June's Business of the Month for their commitment to serving Hart County and their support and sponsorship of local events and organizations.

Walter McGee started McGee Heating and Air in 1981. The staff of 65 employees are Trane Certified Specialists who offer both residential and commercial services. They pride themselves on providing honest and dependable service that their customers can count on. They have 4 locations including Elberton, Easley, and Anderson but are proud to call Hartwell home. They have proudly been serving Northeast Georgia and Upstate South Carolina for over 35 years.

We congratulate them for their 35 years in business and thank them for their support and leadership in our community!

Hart County Charter School System STAR student David Rice and STAR teacher Lloyd Martin were honored at the Region 4 Professional Association of Georgia Educators STAR banquet on Tuesday evening, March 22nd. STAR students and teachers from 18 schools in NE Georgia were honored at the annual banquet hosted by the University of Georgia College of Education. David was accompanied by his parents, Charles and Caren Rice; also attending the banquet were HCHS principal Kevin Gaines and G.T. Myers representing the Hart County Chamber of Commerce, which sponsored the local recognition program this year.
