February 9, Thursday, TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Open House at 6:30 pm at the Hart County Senior Center, 139 Clay St., Hartwell. TOPS Club, Inc., is a non-profit organization weight loss support group. We meet each Thursday at 6:30 pm at the Hart County Senior Center. February 18, Saturday, Hart County Chamber’s  Eggs and Issues Breakfast from 8:00 am – 11:00 am at the Adult Learning Center, 150 Benson St., Hartwell. April 22, Saturday, Lake Hartwell Antique Boat Festival at Hartwell Marina, from 10 am-3 pm. Check out the beautifully restored antique boats.  Event includes art and craft show, antique and classic car show, kid’s boat craft, food and music. April 29, Saturday, Hart County Humane Society’s 10th Annual Dam Dog Walk from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm at Big Oaks Recreation Area (on Hwy. 29 near Dam).  Registration:  $25 (Includes t-shirt & pageant entry fee)  Registration forms can be picked up at any local vet office or downloaded at www.harthumane.org.  Enter your dog to compete as Best Dressed, Cutest Canine, Most Talented, Best Strut and Friendliest Furry Friend in the Best Dog by a Dam Site Pageant.  Bring your own fur-baby or take a foster dog for a walk down the dam to raise money for Hart County’s animals.  All proceeds go to medical treatment for shelter animals.

May 27, Lake Hartwell Music Festival at Long Point Recreation Area.

May 27 & 28, Challenge of the Centuries Bike Ride, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Hartwell.  Choose your mileage as you ride over hills, past farmlands, over the Dam and by the lakeshore.  This spectacular ride is a crowd favorite.  Go online at www.challengeofthecenturies.com to register.  Camping is available at the YMCA of Hartwell.  Proceeds support the Kiwanis Club of Hartwell’s program of work.

June 24, Saturday, 41st Annual Pre-Fourth Craft Festival in Downtown Hartwell from 8:30 am-2 pm. This huge craft fair takes over the downtown square and is sponsored by the Hartwell Service League.  This is the biggest show of the year with over 100 art & craft vendors, food, entertainment, kids’ activities and patriotic parade.

December 10, Sunday, Christmas Parade at 4:00 pm.  Line up starts at 3:00 pm at the corner of Athens St. and Hwy. 51 in the Bells Shopping Center.  Best overall interpretation of the parade theme  wins $100 in Our Town Gift Certificates.  Parade route goes down Franklin St. to the Middle School.  Registration for participants is $15.00.  Deadline for registration is December 9th at noon.    Call, email or come by the Chamber office for more information.
