March 30-April 22, Youth Exhibit at The Art Center, 338 E. Purse Collection for 1st Annual Purse Auction.  We need your help.  Torch of Hartwell will be hosting a purse auction in September, 2017.  Currently, we are building our inventory and we need your help.  We are looking for gently used or new purses for our 1st annual purse auction.  Proceeds from this auction will benefit the Railroad Street Park Project.  So, tell your neighbors, clean out your closets and make a donation.  Please drop purses off at the Hart County Chamber of Commerce or call Kristin Joyner at 770-318-0946 or kristinjjoyner@gmail.com.

April 22, Saturday, Lake Hartwell Antique Boat Festival at Hartwell Marina, from 10 am-3 pm. Check out the beautifully restored antique boats.  Event includes art and craft show, antique and classic car show, kid’s activities, food and music. April 22, Saturday, Come & Cruise In from 10 am-3 pm.  Attention antique and classic car owners.  You are invited to cruise in at the Antique Boat Festival.  No cost to come.  Just meet at 9:00 am at the Belk’s of Hartwell parking lot for Parade line up.  At 9:30 am the Hartwell Police Dept. will escort you to the Hartwell Marina for parking.  You can stay as long as you like and enjoy the festival.  Also on hand will be food, music, art & crafts and kid’s activities.  For more information contact the Chamber of Commerce at hartchamber@hartcom.net or 706-376-8590. 

April 22, Saturday, Wellness Walk & 5K at St. Mary’s Sacred Heart Hospital.  Join us for a fun morning of music, door prizes, snacks, awards and exercise to benefit the Power of Hope.  The Fun Run will begin at 8:00 am followed by the 5K at 8:30 am.  Both races start and finish at St. Mary’s Sacred Heart.  Early bird registration is $22.  Regular registration is $25.  Race day registration is $30.  Family rates are available on the website.  For more information or to register, go to www.wellness5K.com.

April 22, Saturday, MOPS of Hartwell’s 1st Annual 1 Mile Fun Run benefitting the O’Neal family at the Elberton Hwy. April 29, Saturday, Hart County Humane Society’s 10th Annual Dam Dog Walk from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm at Big Oaks Recreation Area (on Hwy. 29 near Dam).  Registration:  $25 (Includes t-shirt & pageant entry fee)  Registration forms can be picked up at any local vet office or downloaded at www.harthumane.org.  Enter your dog to compete as Best Dressed, Cutest Canine, Most Talented, Best Strut and Friendliest Furry Friend in the Best Dog by a Dam Site Pageant.  Bring your own fur-baby or take a foster dog for a walk down the dam to raise money for Hart County’s animals.  All proceeds go to medical treatment for shelter animals.

December 10, Sunday, Christmas Parade at 4:00 pm.  Line up starts at 3:00 pm at the corner of Athens St. and Hwy. 51 in the Bells Shopping Center.  Best overall interpretation of the parade theme  wins $100 in Our Town Gift Certificates.  Parade route goes down Franklin St. to the Middle School.  Registration for participants is $15.00.  Deadline for registration is December 9th at noon.    Call, email or come by the Chamber office for more information.
