MAY

Purse Collection for 1st Annual Purse Auction.  We need your help.  Torch of Hartwell will be hosting a purse auction in September, 2017.  Currently, we are building our inventory and we need your help.  We are looking for gently used or new purses for our 1st annual purse auction.  Proceeds from this auction will benefit the Railroad Street Park Project.  So, tell your neighbors, clean out your closets and make a donation.  Please drop purses off at the Hart County Chamber of Commerce or call Kristin Joyner at 770-318-0946 or kristinjjoyner@gmail.com.

Friday, BINGO Night, 2nd Friday of every month, 6-8 pm at the Hartwell Community Center on Richardson St. Hotdogs, popcorn, and drinks will be sold. Fundraiser for the Hartwell Community Center. All proceeds will go to the building fund.

May 4-May 27, Pottery Exhibit at The Art Center, 338 E. May 27, Saturday, 10th annual "Cars & Guitars” Festival in downtown Hartwell on the Square from 10 am-2 pm. May 27, Saturday, Lake Hartwell Music Festival at Long Point Recreation Area (at the end of old 29) from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm.  Party with a purpose.  All proceeds go to HYDRA.  Combining the abundance of 9 live bands, food and retail vendors, activities, snacks, crafts and the beautiful waters of Lake Hartwell as a backdrop, this will be an amazing holiday-weekend event.  Coolers allowed; no glass.  $15.00 in advance/ $20.00 at the gate.  Kids 10 & under are free.  For information, contact Tray Hicks at 706-436-9695 or tray@trayhicks.com.      

May 27 & 28, Challenge of the Centuries Bike Ride, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Hartwell.  Choose your mileage as you ride over hills, past farmlands, over the Dam and by the lakeshore.  This spectacular ride is a crowd favorite.  Go online at www.challengeofthecenturies.com to register.  Camping is available at the YMCA of Hartwell.  Proceeds support the Kiwanis Club of Hartwell’s program of work.

June 24, Saturday, 41st Annual Pre-Fourth Craft Festival in Downtown Hartwell from 8:30 am- 2:30 pm.
